Presenters

David Berger, Chief Infrastructure Architect, TD Ameritrade
David Berger is the Chief Infrastructure Architect and sets the technical direction of networks, systems, storage and datacenters at TD Ameritrade.

Prior to joining the company in the spring of 2005, Mr. Berger held the position of Vice President & Chief Technology Officer for E-Business at Dun & Bradstreet. Mr. Berger's background includes leading technology in financial industry venture capital startups, including the creation of an institutional stock exchange, and a European based trading platform. Mr. Berger has developed market data systems for Reuters and Digital Equipment Corporation, and targeting systems for Northrop-Grumman.

Mr. Berger holds a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and a Masters in Management from the College of St. Elizabeth.


Dr. Jeffrey Jaffe, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Novell
Dr. Jeffrey JaffeDr. Jeffrey Jaffe serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Novell. He is responsible for Novell's technology direction, as well as leading Novell's product business units. Dr. Jaffe serves as a member of Novell's Worldwide Management Committee.

After receiving a Ph.D. in computer science from MIT in 1979, Dr. Jaffe joined IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center. During his tenure at IBM, he held a wide variety of technical and management positions, including vice president, Systems and Software Research, corporate vice president of technology, and general manager of IBM's SecureWay business unit, where he was responsible for IBM's security, directory, and networking software business.

Dr. Jaffe most recently served as president of Bell Labs Research and Advanced Technologies, where he established new facilities in Ireland and India, and served as chairman of the board of the New Jersey Nanotechnology Consortium. Dr. Jaffe was also appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Presidential Commission for Critical Infrastructure Protection. He has also chaired the Chief Technology Officer group of the Computer Systems Policy Project, and has served on the National Research Council's Computer Science and Telecommunications Board. He is a fellow of ACM and the IEEE.

Dr. Jaffe holds a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Electrical Engineering in addition to his Doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Joseph Kennedy, VP, Technology Architecture and R&D, State Street Corporation
Joe KennedyJoseph L. Kennedy, Vice President of Technology Architecture for State Street, is responsible for establishing the technology vision and architectural principals for my.statestreet.com; his organization selects and integrates new technologies, builds custom solutions, and establishes new strategic frameworks and processes for enterprise implementation and systems integration.

Prior to working on my.statestreet.com, Joe was Vice President of Architecture for the State Street's Enterprise Client Integration group, where he is credited with establishing ETL, Open Source, Environment Configuration Management, Content Management and Session Management solutions, as well as the Information Delivery Architecture, for his line of business. Joe was also responsible for Wealth Manager Services' Intranet, Extranet, Messaging Infrastructure, U.K. trading systems and technology lead for M&A activities.

Before working for the ECI division, Joe was Principle in charge of the Internet Competency Center for State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), where he designed and established the core components for application development, including Application and Web Servers, Persistent Session Management, Content Management, Directory Technologies, XML Persistence and Portal Technologies. Joe was also responsible for SSgA's Intranet.

Prior to working at State Street Joe was the Head of Internet Technology at Parexel International. He was responsible for establishing a worldwide corporate Intranet and the tools/architecture to develop web applications. Joe built the development and support organization that maintained the web infrastructure. In addition, his team established the corporate DMZ, Firewall and VPN solutions and internalized all externally hosted internet sites. Joe also assisted in migrating the corporate email solution.

Joe has served on the Board of Directors of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and NICSA's technology board, and currently resides on mValent's technology board. He speaks internationally on Enterprise Architecture, Availability Architecture, Open-Source Technology, Configuration Management, Content Management, Session Management, XML Messaging and Taxonomy.

Joe holds a BA in Computer Science from Clark University.


Ron Milton, Executive Vice President, Computerworld
Ron MiltonRon manages the events business and strategic business programs for IT executive titles in storage networking, mobile and wireless, data center and business intelligence market sectors. Milton leads the team responsible for creating content, sponsor sales, operations, marketing and audience development for all of Computerworld's events, such as brands like Premier 100 IT Leaders, Storage Networking World, Mobile & Wireless World, Business Intelligence Perspectives and IT Executive Summit Series. He has 20+ years of experience in information technology, serving in both vendor and information services management positions. Before his current role at IDG, Ron was Senior Vice President of CXO Media and General Manager of CIO Magazine's Executive Program Divisions.

Prior to joining Computerworld in 1999, he was President and CEO of IDG's Internet Commerce (ICE) business unit, which he founded in 1996 as a start-up business, and was a pioneer in using e-commerce systems and web marketing. He was a 1996 recipient of the coveted IDG Chairman's Award for the most successful start-up business globally. Before joining IDG, Milton spent five years as Vice President/Partner of GLA computer Systems, a software developer and channel integrator with market share leadership in wholesale travel solutions. Prior to GLA, he also held a variety of management positions in channel management, field sales and marketing at Honeywell Information Systems and Bull HN. He holds degrees from Concordia University and Sir George Williams University.


Danny Moore, Chief Operations Officer, Wombat Financial Software
Danny MooreAs COO of Wombat Financial Software, Danny Moore is responsible for managing the day to day global activities of the organization, spanning three continents.

Based in Wombat's Headquarters in New York, Moore brings notable success and global experience in sales, marketing and software development, specializing in working with dynamic emerging companies which serve leading financial institutions.

Since joining Wombat in 2003, Danny has delivered a number of new products from concept to prototype, secured the company's first customers in each of the world's major financial services hubs and has overseen the establishment of Wombat's centre of engineering excellence located in the UK.

Preceding Wombat Financial Software, Moore contributed to the success of First Derivates (representing Kx Systems) by helping to establish its US sales and marketing presence, whilst simultaneously developing its financial derivatives pricing software. Moore also delivered third level production and development support to Kx customers in the US and internationally to Europe and Japan.

As well as being a Sun Certified Java Programmer and WebMethods certified developer, Danny holds a Masters of Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and a Masters of Philosophy in Quality Improvement and Manufacturing Profitability from Queens University in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
